This is Battleworld: the planet Doctor Doom built from the wreckage of dead universes. A Manhattan that's a kingdom, a land called Egyptia, a wall holding back zombies, and on the throne, a man who calls himself God Emperor.
Jonathan Hickman's 2015 Secret Wars asks one question about him: did Doom do this to conquer everything, or to save it? This video follows the story across three series, from the first doomed Earth in New Avengers to the final page of Secret Wars #9:the incursions, the Illuminati and the Cabal, the Beyonders and the Molecule Man, the birth of Battleworld, the crack in Doom's perfect world, and the confession that ends it.
This is the comics story, not the movies. At the end: my reading, and your verdict. Conqueror, savior, or both? Tell me in the comments.
