We have been told to check out Suicide Silence for ages, so we finally did it as part of our ongoing deathcore deep dive. Going in, neither of us could have named a single song. Coming out, the verdict was "sickening" in the best way: legible deathcore where you can actually understand what is being said, guitars locked in full crab core stance, and a vocal performance that had us both yelling baby Oli era and Count Your Blessings through the whole back half. The music video was the one rough spot (all that blood, all those shots fired), and there is a high pitched electric guitar moment that went a little hair metal for one of us.
