This year our celebration honored of receiving representatives from the Consulate General of Mexico in San Francisco, including Ursula Rojas Weiser, Consul of Economic and Political Affairs, and Mireya Magaña Galvez, Associate Consul. Although this event will include the traditional Grito de Dolores, symbol of Mexico's Independence, the Vallejo Independence Festival also recognizes and proudly celebrates the Latin American nations that commemorate their independence during the month of September: Brazil, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, Chile, and Belize.
