Volunteering with CCNE as a peer evaluator is a great way to pursue professional development in nursing. http://www.ccneaccreditation.org.
The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) evaluation process is based on CCNE's accreditation standards, which promote excellence in baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs and nurse residency programs, while allowing for innovation and diversity in program implementation. You'll "gain more than you've given" by becoming a CCNE evaluator--with the chance to experience the collegiality and CCNE values as you work on a team to evaluate other nursing education programs and give back to the nursing profession. Further, your institution will benefit from your strong understanding of the CCNE accreditation process and the CCNE standards.
CCNE is the autonomous accrediting arm of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). Whether you are considering accreditation for your baccalaureate or graduate nursing programs or your nurse residency program--or are considering enrollment in a nursing program or future employment as a nurse--look to CCNE accreditation as the standard of excellence for the best accredited colleges for nursing, best bachelors in nursing programs, best masters in nursing programs, best doctoral nursing programs, best nursing schools, best online nursing programs, and best accredited nurse residency programs.
