How to control Deela from Maize crop || Crop Reformer

Cyperus rotundus or purple nut sedge is an important weed of autumn maize crop. In case of severe infestation it is not effectively controlled by the commonly used herbicides (different formulations of atrazine plus mesotrione). Halosulfuron (Halt AGPharma or Volantis FMC) kill it effectively and single or mixed formulations of the same are commonly suggested for this purpose. We have researched that halosulfuron in single or mixed formulations really controls nut sedge effectively but it induces hidden stress on root growth and development which results into reduction in fodder and grain yield of maize crop. That is why, it can not freely be suggested for the control of purple nutsedge from maize crop.
