Two years ago, NGS was largely a conversation, and a vision discussed in boardrooms and conferences. It was exciting, promising, but still theoretical. Today, that theory has become practice. In March 2024, we sat down with Dr. Allan Njau, a Pathologist at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), as he shared his vision of how genomics would transform cancer management. Today, that vision is a reality –AKUH is among Kenya’s private healthcare institutions using Illumina NGS technology for routine clinical care. Dr. Njau shares firsthand experiences from his work in Cancer Diagnostics.  NGS in key clinical areas including breast, prostate, ovarian, lung, and colon cancers.  The shift towards precision and personalized medicine.  Improved clinical outcomes through targeted therapies.  Role of NGS in managing drug resistance in microbial applications such as HIV. He also shares his vision for the future of precision medicine — commending Kenya’s healthcare ecosystem for its rapid adoption of advanced technologies. We invite you to watch this Exclusive Video Interview of Dr. Allan Njau highlighting the real-world clinical impact of NGS technology in Kenya. NGS at the clinical level — from Idea to Reality.
