Who will see the wounds bloom like flowers and spread their fragrance?) Dekhna sab raqs-e-bismil mein magan ho jaayen ge Jis taraf se teer aaye ga udhar dekhe ga kaun (You will see everyone lost in the dance of the wounded. Who will look toward the direction from which the arrow comes?) Zakhm jitne bhi thay sab mansoob qaatil se huay Tere haathon ke nishaan, ae chaara-gar, dekhe ga kaun (All the wounds were attributed to the killer. Who will recognize the marks left by your hands, O healer?) Woh hawas ho ya wafa ho, baat hai mehroomi ki Log to phal phool dekhein ge, shajar dekhe ga kaun (Whether it is desire or faithfulness, it is a matter of deprivation. People will see the fruits and flowers; who will see the tree?) Meri aawaazon ke saaye mere baam-o-dar pe hain Mere lafzon mein utar kar mera ghar dekhe ga kaun (The shadows of my voices linger upon my roof and doors. Who will enter my words and see my home?) Hum chiraagh-e-shab hi thehre to phir kya sochna Raat thi kis ka muqaddar aur sehar dekhe ga kaun (If we remained nothing but lamps of the night, then what is there to ponder? Who will see whose destiny belonged to the night, and who will witness the dawn?) Har koi apni hawa mein mast phirta hai Faraz Shehr-e-na-pursaan mein teri chashm-e-tar dekhe ga kaun (Everyone wanders intoxicated in their own world, Faraz. In this city of the uncaring, who will notice your tearful eyes?)
