Early music on modern instruments?! | REMA Early Music Summit

This video is sponsored by REMA Early Music Smmit: http://www.earlymusic.eu On November 21st I am appearing at REMA Early Music Summit, as part of the event 'Bach on Piano: do you have a permit?'. My contribution is this short video, outlining the rather unique position of the recorder in this field. As professionals we play early music on historically accurate instruments, new compositions on modern developed recorders - and every crossover in between! During the rest of the event, a series of harpsichordists and pianists will give their own viewpoint on early and modern instruments - and their views on mixing up the repertoire. What do you think? Should we only play early music in its authentic, historically informed way? What about playing modern music on early instruments? DISCUSS! ps. keep it respectful, and spoiler alert: there's no one right answer ;) Want to attend the event? REMA Early Music Summit is open for registration until November 16: http://www.earlymusic.eu/ It's all online! There will be conferences, speed date meetings, concerts, discussions and more. //// INSTRUMENTS In this video I play on: a 466 consort tenor by Peter van der Poel a 440 Ganassi soprano by Stephan Blezinger a 440 Rafi tenor by Francesco Li Virghi a 442 baroque alto by Yoav Ran a 442 Modern Edition also by Mollenhauer a 442 contrabass by Paetzold //// ONLINE COURSE!
