RABBAT ASHTART | Great Astarte

Here she is - the goddess-demon Astarte. Majestic, beautiful, fearsome, and powerful. I had to spend significantly more time creating this track than usual. Conveying her multifaceted essence through music turned out to be far from easy. I wanted the sound to capture both her incredible power and enchanting beauty, as well as that ancient, almost intoxicating terror that a divine presence can inspire. For this song, I chose a language stylized after ancient Phoenician. The lyrics themselves are a hymn of praise and a ritual invocation of Astarte, while their imagery is inspired by ancient myths. One of these myths tells of the gods confronting the terrifying power of the sea. While the other deities feared the might of the Sea, Astarte fearlessly stepped forward to face it - laughing, with her head held high, ready to challenge the primordial force itself. This is exactly how I wanted to portray her in this work: beautiful and terrifying at the same time, mesmerizing, untamable, the one before whom even gods bow.
