Day 1 of 2 – Riding the Smoky Mountain 500 on a 2018 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports The adventure begins at Two Wheels of Suches, a legendary motorcycle camp in the Georgia mountains, and the perfect launch point for tackling the Smoky Mountain 500 (SM500). Riding my 2018 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports (DCT), I set out on the first leg of this two-day, 500-mile dual sport and ADV route heading counterclockwise! In this Day 1 ride, you’ll experience: ✅ The excitement of starting from Two Wheels of Suches ✅ Scenic gravel and dirt roads through the Chattahoochee National Forest ✅ Tight turns, rocky climbs, and flowing backroads ✅ Stunning mountain overlooks and forest service trails ✅ First impressions of riding the Africa Twin on rugged terrain The SM500 is a must-do route for adventure riders, stretching across Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. This first day covers some of the most beautiful (and challenging) sections of the trip — a true test for both rider and machine.
