Floyd's Susannah | Official HGO Trailer

From the sounds of the Appalachian hills comes a powerful American masterpiece—Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah. Infused with revival hymns and folk song, this story of innocence, judgment and betrayal comes to life onstage at Houston Grand Opera. This production features new staging from celebrated soprano-turned-director Patricia Racette. Soprano Sylvia D’Eramo, who made her acclaimed HGO debut last season in Silent Night, makes her role debut as Susannah, with leading baritone Rod Gilfry as the Reverend Olin Blitch and rising tenors Bille Bruley and Aaron Blake as Sam and Little Bat. Maestro James Gaffigan conducts. HGO presents Floyd's Susannah through November 8, 2026. Tickets at HGO.org/tickets.
