Everyone Thought the New Accountant Stole the Money — The Night Guard Knew Something Was Wrong

Lerato Mokoena thought her new accounting job in Johannesburg could finally give her family some stability. Instead, only weeks after joining the company, money from an important community charity fund appears to be missing — and the records seem to point directly at her. The office gossip begins almost immediately. Coworkers who welcomed her start keeping their distance. Management questions her. Even one of the people she trusted most knows more than she is willing to admit. But one person refuses to believe Lerato is guilty. Sibusiso, the building’s night security supervisor, remembers something everyone else overlooked — Lerato had already left the building when someone returned to the finance floor. As an internal investigation begins, hidden records, fear, workplace betrayal and one uncomfortable truth slowly change everything. And while Lerato fights to clear her name, the man who stood beside her when almost nobody else would begins to mean more to her than either of them expected.
