Taking care of your health just got easier, thanks to my sponsor Zocdoc, start here at: https://zocdoc.com/akshon The Superbowl. The FIFA World Cup. The Tour de France. Every major sport has an ultimate event to go along with it. Fighting games are no different. For the last 30 years, the Evolution Fighting Championship, better known as Evo, has been the largest annual fighting game event in the world. Bringing in players for Street Fighter, Tekken, Super Smash Bros, Guilty Gear, Marvel vs Capcom, Dragonball FighterZ, 2XKO, and countless others, Evo has been an event built through sheer love and passion for fighting games. At least… it was. After being purchased by Sony in 2021, then sold to Nodwin Gaming and the Savvy Game group - owned by Saudi Arabia - in 2025, Evo no longer looks like the grassroots initiative we once knew and loved. What does the new ownership mean for the fighting game community? We hope to answer that question in this video.
