In the Cattle we lost Squirt, Jaila and Jacole. The Goats we lost Casper and Red, the sheep we lost Mary, Rhonda, Daphne. So loss is unfortunately something that that is just part of life. But it can be even harder when you have to choose to loose one. We this year due to drought, Feed cost and many other factors we had to make a decision with the Cattle. It was hard, Roxie had been with us for almost 12 years. But the last couple of years she has been more and more difficult at breeding time. And she was at the point she was old enough and cranky enough she'd rather fight with a Bull than breed. And unfortunately with all the financial factors going on we had to make the decision to let her go. We also had to let go a couple Young Heifers that I was so looking forward to keeping. One from Roxie's bloodline her Grand Daughter if you will, and one from Jet's bloodline. Jet, the one that started it all the first cow on LTB Farms pastures. A bottle baby that cost us $50 that became the foundation of our herd. Jacole was her baby, Jaila was her baby, Layla is her Grand Daughter. So it was hard. But we did what we had to do, we made a choice and stuck to it. It would have been easy to change our minds, and the whole time I was building the catch pen and loadout, I really couldn't think about why I was building it I had to just focus on the fact that it had to be done.
