💔🕊️ EVA MARIE — REST EASY, SAINT
Tonight, one of Hollywood's golden lights has gone dark.
Eva Marie Saint — 102 years of grace, talent, courage and unforgettable cinema.
Born on July 4, 1924, in Newark, New Jersey, Eva Marie Saint became one of the most remarkable actresses of Hollywood's Golden Age. Her screen debut in On the Waterfront opposite Marlon Brando earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She later became unforgettable as Eve Kendall in Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest opposite Cary Grant.
But behind the Oscar, the cameras and the legendary performances was a woman who chose something deeper than Hollywood fame.
She loved her family.
She protected her private life.
She stayed grounded while becoming one of the most respected faces of American cinema.
She continued working for decades, earning an Emmy and appearing in films including Superman Returns, Because of Winn-Dixie and Winter's Tale.
And now, at 102 years old, Eva Marie Saint is gone.
She died on October 6, 2026, at her home in Los Angeles. Her representative said she died of natural causes.
There was no dramatic final scene.
No Hollywood spotlight.
No cameras waiting.
Just a remarkable woman reaching the end of a remarkable life.
For 65 years, she shared her life with television director Jeffrey Hayden, until his death in 2016. They raised two children together.
And now we can only imagine the reunion beyond this life.
Maybe somewhere beyond the lights, the cameras and the applause, there is a familiar face waiting at the door.
Maybe there is no more “Action.”
No more “Cut.”
Just peace.
🎻 Rest easy, Saint.
The little girl from New Jersey became an Oscar winner.
The frightened young actress who walked onto the set with Marlon Brando became a legend.
The woman who stood beside Cary Grant became part of film history.
And the woman behind all those characters simply remained Eva.
A mother.
A wife.
An actress.
A woman who lived 102 years.
A life that cannot be measured by one award, one movie or one photograph.
💔 Tonight, the screen feels a little darker.
But her films remain.
Her performances remain.
Her laughter remains.
Her story remains.
And every time someone watches On the Waterfront...
Every time someone watches North by Northwest...
Every time her face appears on a screen...
Eva Marie Saint will be there again.
