The Philippine Village Hotel was originally part of the Manila International Airport (MIA) complex. It was constructed in the 1970s near the airport to accommodate travelers, airline crews, and dignitaries. Before it became a hotel, the building briefly served as an airport terminal during the transition period after the 1972 fire that destroyed the original Federico Ilustre-designed terminal. The terminal operations were temporarily moved there while the new Leandro Locsin-designed terminal (now NAIA Terminal 1) was under construction. The hotel later became a well-known landmark but eventually declined and was abandoned after years of financial and legal troubles. A curated collection of historic photographs tracing the transformation of the old Manila International Airport, gathered from various archival sources. This collection highlights the iconic 1962 terminal designed by Federico Ilustre and the subsequent terminal rebuilt by National Artist Leandro Locsin following the devastating 1972 fire.
