Chequers vs Southern Cross: The 5-Set Battle for the Top | WAVL State League

Southern Cross came into Game 11 of the WAVL State League Men’s season undefeated, sitting on top and looking almost untouchable. Chequers, sitting 2nd on the ladder, knew this was going to be one of their biggest tests of the season. Early on, Southern Cross looked every bit like the team to beat. They were confident, composed, and Chequers had to fight for everything. But the real turning point came in the 3rd set. With Chequers down and the match starting to slip away, they pulled a hail mary move and threw young Cale Lance onto the court. At first, it looked like a desperate roll of the dice. But almost instantly, the mood changed. Cale brought energy. He brought belief. He brought that little spark Chequers desperately needed. Suddenly the whole team seemed to lift. It was like Chequers looked around and thought, “Well if a kid can do it… why can’t we?” From there, the match completely changed. The momentum shifted, the fight came back, and Chequers started playing with the confidence and intensity they needed against an undefeated side. By the 4th set, Chequers were flying. They dominated, the bench was up, the energy was back, and Southern Cross suddenly had a real fight on their hands. Then it all came down to the 5th set. Undefeated Southern Cross. Second-placed Chequers. A young player sparking a comeback. A huge momentum swing. And one final set to decide it all. Can Chequers pull off one of the biggest wins of their season, or will Southern Cross stay undefeated? Watch until the end — this one turns into an absolute thriller. 00:00 Set 1 28:01 Set 2 53:23 Set 3 1:18:02 Set 4 1:38:45 Set 5 #WAVL #StateLeagueVolleyball #ChequersVolleyball #SouthernCrossVolleyball #VolleyballWA #MensVolleyball #PerthVolleyball #VolleyballHighlights #CaleLance #NickLanceVolleyball
