સવર્ણ સમાજના નામે ચરી ખનારા જાતિવાદીઓની Shankarsinh Vaghela માફી કેમ માગે ? Why should casteists who thrive on the name of Savarna society demand an apology from Shankarsinh Vaghela? Former Gujarat Chief Minister and veteran leader Shankarsinh Vaghela’s recent statement in Sagbara, Narmada district, has stirred a political storm. Amid speculation about his possible return to Congress, certain sections have launched a fierce attack on him by distorting his words. What did Shankarsinh Vaghela actually say? Addressing those who oppose reservation for Dalits, Adivasis and backward communities, he said: “If you want to pick up dirt/garbage, whether you are a Patel, Vaniya or Brahmin — I will give you a salary of ₹50,000 per month. Come and clean the dirt. Then you will understand the condition in which tribal communities have been living for generations — without electricity, without water, and under years of injustice.” This is not a new statement. One and a half years ago, in an interview, Vaghela had used almost the same words, offering even ₹1 lakh to those who oppose reservation and claim superiority while refusing to do the work traditionally forced upon sanitation workers. Yet, the statement is being twisted to claim that he insulted the entire Brahmin, Patidar and Vaniya communities. In reality, he specifically targeted only those who oppose reservation and social justice. Shankarsinh Vaghela himself belongs to an upper-caste community. Very few leaders from such backgrounds speak so openly about the historical injustice faced by Dalits and Adivasis. Instead of attacking him, shouldn’t the upper-caste society appreciate a rare voice that talks about social justice? Those who demand an apology from “Bapu” and threaten to go to his residence in Vasant Vaghela — are they truly representing their community, or are they simply casteist elements who make a living by stoking caste politics? Watch this detailed analysis on Krantimarg as we expose the distortion, defend the principle of social justice, and ask the real question: Should Shankarsinh Vaghela apologize… or should those who oppose reservation while looking down on sanitation work introspect?
