"practice without long breaks. Practice from the moment you wake up until you fall asleep. Keep practicing regularly. Be mindful of the workings of the body and mind. Observe them working. When the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, or mind makes contact with an object and happiness, unhappiness, wholesomeness, or unwholesomeness arises, be mindful. This is one approach. Another approach is to be mindful when the eye gets absorbed in looking at forms, when the ear gets absorbed in sounds, when the nose gets absorbed in smells, when the tongue gets absorbed in tastes, when the body gets absorbed in physical sensations, and when the mind gets absorbed in thoughts. This is observing the behavior of the mind as it arises and ceases through the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. So, you can observe a happy mind, an unhappy mind, a wholesome mind, or an unwholesome mind. These arise together with mental formations. Or you can observe the arising and ceasing of the mind through the six sense doors: eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. Either way, you will see the three characteristics. Keep practicing and observing consistently, and you will gain something valuable. Don't take long breaks. When you have time, practice immediately. Don’t waste time browsing the internet or chatting, it will only make your mind restless and unfocused." That won’t get you anywhere.
