Your LG OLED TV no longer turns on, or only starts intermittently? In this video we show how a qualified electrician systematically tests the EAY65689423 power supply board and the nearly identical EAY65689411, from the least to the greatest effort.
All measurements come from our workshop. From more than 1,000 repairs we know that in the vast majority of cases one of two areas of the board is affected. Using two real boards, we show how a few measurements clearly locate the fault.
What this video covers
Discharge check: measuring the residual voltage on the large electrolytic capacitors until it is preferably below 30 V
Visual inspection for burnt or ruptured components
Measuring fuses F100 and F801 and the inrush current limiter (ICL, TH101)
Assigning the fault to block 1 or block 2, with a cross-check on the solder side
Fault pattern B: aged film capacitors as the cause of intermittent start-up problems
