Egerton University Memoirs

Egerton University is a world class university for the advancement of humanity. Being the oldest institution of higher learning in Kenya, It was founded as a Farm School in 1939 by Lord Maurice Egerton of Tatton, in the 1920s. The School was upgraded to an Agricultural College offering diploma programmes in the 1950’s. After the Agricultural Ordinance was enacted in 1955, the government of Kenya in 1979 together with USAID funded the expansion of the Institution. With a mission to offer exemplary education and generate knowledge for national and global development, we innovatively influence human development through holistic education through the dissemination of knowledge and skills with emphasis on agriculture and related disciplines. With a strict observation of our core values and our mandate we surely produce hands on graduates that live up to our motto of advancing humanity and global development. With a dedicated and ardent body of governance, Egerton University is truly a world class university for the advancement of humanity.
