NOW WITHDRAWN!! Merseyrail 507018 (2C49) Chester - Hooton

After an incredible 46 years of service in the region the remaining Class 507s with Merseyrail will sadly join their sister units of design, that being the 313s, 314s, 315s and 508s in being consigned to the history books with the full count of the new 777s having reached Merseyside. Despite this they're not going without a final flourish as quite regularly one or more has been out in service recently and that includes 507018 which had been making appearances right up until its withdrawal earlier this week. A few weeks ago I got the opportunity to give 018 my own farewell by having a couple of final runs on it from James Street to Chester followed by a ride from Chester to Hooton and then later on from Green Lane to Port Sunlight via the Liverpool City Centre loop. The journey from Chester to Hooton being my opportunity to get a last video of it as it got opened up between Bache and Capenhurst and then between Capenhurst and Hooton. So here's my video of it recorded from Chester to Hooton and then as it departs Hooton station, farewell 018!
