Even though the Dongfeng Vigo has a slightly smaller outer footprint than its primary competitors—the GAC Aion Y Plus Elite and the Chery iCar V23 2WD, it boasts a generous boot at 500 L, standing out as the most functional cargo area in this trio. The ride quality is tuned firmly, which completely eliminates any unwanted floaty sensations over undulations, and the brakes offer reassuring, predictable stopping power. The only immediate weak point we found was the factory-fitted tires sourced from an obscure brand; it might not be a bad idea to swap these out for a reputable, familiar rubber compound for better wet-weather confidence. Battery & Charging Packing a smaller 51.87 kWh battery capacity than its adversaries, the Vigo delivers a WLTP range of 340 km to 380 km. That means you will need to plan quick charging stops on intercity road trips, though it remains more than adequate for daily urban commuting. When it is time to plug in, the Vigo shines with blazing-fast 167 kW DC charging capabilities—roughly double the charging speeds of its immediate class rivals. Verdict & Competitor Comparison To sum it all up, the Dongfeng Vigo is an exceptional companion for city dwellers who love spontaneous weekend escapes—whether that means driving to the nearest hill for a morning hike or setting up a peaceful afternoon fishing trip where you can cast your line while sitting comfortably on the drop-down tailgate, using the vehicle's V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) output to power your coffee maker.
