Here is the interview with producer Naga Vamsi about Lenin and other upcoming releases. Interview hosted by idlebrain.com Jeevi:
About the Movie "Lenin"
Nagarjuna’s Involvement: Nagarjuna took a very personal interest in the production, involving himself in every aspect like editing, music, and script. Naga Vamsi mentioned he was involved "1000% like a father" rather than just a producer [00:51].
Business & Release: Naga Vamsi is handling the business side. The theatrical and non-theatrical rights (including satellite) have already been sold. They are very happy with the pre-release business [01:40].
Akhil's Makeover: Audiences will see Akhil in a completely grounded, rural avatar, shedding his "rich kid/golden spoon" image. Vamsi promises everyone will be pleasantly surprised by his acting [02:40].
Strong Second Half: The second half of the movie is heavily engaging with zero lag. The final 45 minutes are highly emotional [03:12].
Voiceovers: Nagarjuna will have a voice presence in the film, and another big star has also provided a voiceover narration throughout the movie [03:39].
Updates on Other Projects
Viswanadh and Sons: This film revolves around an unmarried 40-year-old man and a 20-year-old girl who enters his life. Vamsi confirmed that audiences will get to see a rich, stylish getup reminiscent of Suriya's "Sanjay Ramaswamy" look from Ghajini. It will be a strong commercial family entertainer [09:26].
Siddhu Jonnalagadda's Next: Shooting begins on July 8th in Rajahmundry. It is a rural comedy with a supernatural element, bringing back the "boy next door" innocence that audiences love from Siddhu [15:57].
Magic: The work by music director Anirudh is completely done. The film is mostly ready, with director Gowtam Tinnanuri currently doing minor tweaks in the second-half edit [05:07].
MAD Juniors: About 75% of the shoot is completed, and it is wrapping up quickly [04:50].
Industry Insights (OTT, Theatres, and Audiences)
Power of Family Audiences: Vamsi emphasized the need to nurture the family drama genre. When women and families come to the theatres, the revenue is completely different, as seen with recent successes [11:37].
The OTT Shift: OTT platforms are becoming stricter. They are now taking detailed story narrations and suggesting changes before buying a film. Furthermore, massive fan-centric action films that work in theatres are generally failing on OTT platforms [18:18].
Theatre Percentage Demands: Vamsi spoke strongly about the ongoing issues with exhibitors demanding a percentage system. He clarified that producers are willing to help genuine, struggling theatre owners but will not bow down to threats or hidden agendas from third-party lessees [20:07].
