Sahika Ercumen, a professional free diver, free-diving instructor, and nutrition and diet specialist was born in Canakkale in January 16th 1985. At an early age she was diagnosed with asthma; however, this did not stop her from starting free-diving and attaining several accomplishments. Since 1998; she has received, both national and international, over 100 medals, various special awards, trophies, three national records and one world record from diving and swimming competitions. After graduating from the Canakkale Milli Piyango Anadolu High School she got her undergraduate degree at Ankara Başkent University Nutrition and Dietetic Faculty. She is currently doing her MBA at the Baskent University. Mrs. Sahika has been in several social awareness commercials and gives workshops on right breathing, success and motivation. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
