The ENTIRE History of Ancient Egypt in 22 Minutes

The entire history of ancient Egypt, from the pyramids to Cleopatra, told through one promise that broke four times. Ancient Egypt lasted more than three thousand years because its people believed in one promise: the Nile will rise, the harvest will come, and the king will keep order. This video follows that promise from a stone staircase on the river to 1970, when the Aswan High Dam finally ended the annual flood. You will see how the Old Kingdom turned grain into labor and built the pyramids, how a failing flood helped end it, how the Hyksos took the north, how the New Kingdom of Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, Akhenaten, Tutankhamun and Ramesses II became an empire, why the earliest documented labor strike shows a state that could no longer pay its own workers, and how Nubians, Assyrians, Persians, Alexander the Great, the Ptolemies and Cleopatra ended the age of the pharaohs.
