THE CONCRETE CAFÉ — a plain concrete box set between two dark towers, at the blue hour. The upper half is nothing but bare concrete: neat rows of tie holes, thin horizontal seams, the last of the daylight grazing one corner. The lower half is all glass, and behind it the room glows amber — a walnut counter with a warm line of light under its top and another at its base, a chrome espresso machine, a grinder, a silver kettle, two backlit shelves of white cups, three wooden stools waiting in a row. The word TACET sits small on the wall. Outside, one thin tree stands uplit on the pale stone pavement, and the windows of the towers are turning on, one by one. The city is heading home. The café stays open.
Ambient minimal jazz for deep work — a soft pad, upright bass, brushes you can barely hear, and a saxophone, trumpet or guitar that only appears now and then. Nothing here asks for your attention. The opening track rises slowly out of silence, like the storefront warming as the sky turns blue. Just over an hour for writing, coding, designing, reading or thinking something through.
Stay as long as you need.
About
Tacet Jazz is a series of quiet rooms for people who think too much — a third place you can open on any desk. A new room every two days.
