The Great I AM is always HE

There's a teaching making the rounds that says, "Whatever God is, so are we" — that because He made us, we somehow carry His nature, His divinity, even His name. It sounds bold. It is not true. God is God. We are not. And the plainest evidence of that isn't found in a doctrine — it's found in our own lives. I remember, as a boy, forging my father's signature on a report card so he wouldn't see I'd failed a test. A small deception, but there wasn't a shred of goodness behind it — only fear, and pride, and the will to hide. Scripture doesn't soften this. Paul writes that we were all "by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind" (Ephesians 2:3). Not made wicked by circumstance — born into it. And the danger isn't only in the obvious sin. Jesus told of a Pharisee who stood in the temple and thanked God he wasn't like other sinners — while looking down on the very man praying beside him (Luke 18:11–14). Self-righteousness is its own kind of blindness. The moment we believe we stand above someone else, we've stood exactly where that Pharisee stood. There is only One who is truly, eternally great — God Almighty, who told Moses from a fire that would not go out, "I AM WHO I AM" (Exodus 3:14). Centuries later, a Man stood before His accusers and calmly claimed that same Name for Himself: "before Abraham was, I am" (John 8:58). Not a prophet borrowing God's authority. God Himself, walking among us. This song is a confession before it is a celebration — one voice admitting what it keeps returning to, until it lifts its eyes and finds it isn't alone. Because the truth this song sings isn't about who we are. It's about who He has always been — unmoved, unmatched, before we existed and long after we are gone. He is not becoming. He is not changing. He was never almost enough. He simply was. He simply is. He simply will ever be. #TheGreatIAM #WorshipMusic #ChristianMusic #CinematicWorship #NewWorshipSong #JesusIsLord #GodIsUnchanging #FreedomInChrist #Repentance #Deliverance #FaithMusic #AIChristianMusic #WorshipSong
