A DREAM Fish from the Moreton Bay Shallow Reef Edges

This trip started with one goal in mind—finding a few snapper around the Moreton Bay islands before the closure. With a low tide in the morning the call was to fish some deeper structure to begin with and then once the tide turned move up shallow and fish the reef edges. I warmed into the session nicely with a few early snapper on the board from the deep. But once I moved into the shallows thats when things got interesting. One fish absolutely smoked me on the first run, and after regrouping we finally connected with what turned out to be one of the best fish I've caught from this shallow country. There's something special about targeting quality fish in skinny water. Feeling those brutal runs, and landing them in such shallow reef country is an experience that's hard to beat.
