Haveli Alif Shah, nestled within Lahore’s historic Delhi Gate, holds deep religious and cultural significance. Every year on 20th Safar, the main Chehlum procession of Imam Hussain (AS) commences here in the early morning and concludes later that night at Karbala Gamay Shah near Bhatti Gate. With roots tracing back to the Mughal era, this tradition began in 1861 or 1862. Despite facing challenges and periods of religious unrest, it has endured through the centuries. Today, it stands as one of the largest and most prominent processions in Pakistan.
