The Wind Knows My Name | A Song of Home, Memories & the Passing Years

*The Wind Knows My Name* is a nostalgic folk ballad about returning to the land you knew as a child, finding the old places changed, and realizing that some memories never leave us. The farmhouse is gone. The barn has fallen. The old road is disappearing beneath the grass. Yet the cottonwoods still stand, the mountains remain, and the wind still moves across the open country. This song is about growing older, remembering the people and places that shaped us, and the quiet connection we carry with the land we once called home. Set against the wide-open landscapes of Montana, the music and imagery tell a story of time, loss, belonging, and remembrance. *"And the world may forget the boy I was, And the fields may never be the same. But somewhere out on that open land, The wind still knows my name."* If this song brings back memories of a place you once called home, I'd love to hear about it in the comments.
