Anika closed the show wearing Groucho Marx glasses and a nose—and a fan who wishes to remain anonymous shared a wonderful possible connection. According to the fan, he gave Howard Ungerleider 30 pairs at Madison Square Garden for the crew. Howard later told him he had distributed them. I also saw those glasses floating around MSG and outside after the shows! The fan separately mailed Anika a package containing Groucho glasses, a cigar, a Groucho photo and a letter asking her to close “Working Man” wearing the disguise. The best part? He sent it as “Groucho,” complete with a signed letter! Were these the exact glasses she wore in D.C.? That hasn’t been confirmed. After the show, the fan says he approached Howard wearing his own Groucho glasses. Howard laughed and said he had immediately thought of him when he saw the gag. The fan isn’t looking for credit or attention. He’s simply thrilled Anika enjoyed the joke—and hopes more fans bring their own glasses and share in the fun.
