Bringing The Deep Blue Shine Back To The Bayliner Discovery 246's Oxidized Gelcoat

Bringing the gelcoat back to life on my old Bayliner (wet sand + compound) + removed the decals This one was a project I've been wanting to get to for a while. My Bayliner Georgia has been sitting out here in Southeast Alaska taking a beating from the sun and salt air for years, and the gelcoat was pretty chalky and oxidized. In this video I walk through the whole process of wet sanding it down and compounding it back to a shine. I also pulled off the old decals while I was at it. Wanted to clean up the look and give her a more modern feel instead of the old faded lettering. If you've got an older boat sitting outside year round, this stuff really does make a difference. Not going to pretend it wasn't a lot of elbow grease, but the results speak for themselves.
