Music Showreel Prewien Pandohi-Mishre. Prewien Pandohi-Mishre is een zanger/componist gevestigd in Rotterdam, Nederland, gespecialiseerd in Indiase Klassieke muziek en spirituele meditatieve muziek. Zijn muziek is geworteld in de traditionele Indiase genres, maar heeft ook elementen van moderne stijlen. Hij verhuisde van Suriname (Zuid-Amerika) naar Rotterdam toen hij 11 jaar oud was. Hier maakte hij kennis met spirituele zang tijdens het bezoeken van lokale Hindoe tempels. Hij leerde Indiase vocale muziek van de lokale muziekschool SKVR en rondde in 2019 zijn Master in Indiase Klassieke Muziek af aan CODARTS Hogeschool voor Muziek. Hij heeft Rasique Music School opgericht in 2011 waar hij les geeft in Indiase vocale muziek aan kinderen, beginners en semi-professionals. Deze showreel is een mix van het repertoire van Prewien en bestaat uit kleine stukjes uit zijn concertportfolio. Het eerste item is een Yoga Nidra Slaap Meditatie Concert, locatie De Nieuwe Kerk, Den Haag. Solo stuk in Raag Rageshri (2020). Georganiseerd door DesiYUP & Zuiderstrandtheater. Samenwerkende artiesten: Aks & Lakshmi (USA) en Daniëlle van Driel (NL). Daarna volgt een traditioneel Indiaas klassiek concert voor het Nederlandse TV programma VPRO Vrije Geluiden (2019). Het optreden is Raag Malkauns in de Indiase klassieke zangstijl "Khayal". Begeleiding op tabla door Yama Sarshar en tanpura door Deniz Schelfi. Duetten binnen de Indiase Klassieke stijl zijn ook een zeer interessant concept. Het volgende stukje is een Duet optreden voor de Nederlandse VPRO Radio4 Vrije Geluiden. Het duet of "Jugalbandi" in Raag Maru Bihag met Hamid Behzadian op slide gitaar begeleid door Tarang Poddar op tabla (2021). Beiden zijn afgestudeerd aan CODARTS. De clip die volgt toont Prewien als componist en koorleider. Voor het festival Sacred Songs, Kerstconcert (2017) werd een middeleeuws mystiek gedicht van Meera bai "Chala Vahi Des" door Prewien gecomponeerd in Raag Kaushik Dhwani en gezongen samen met het Rasique Koor De laatste twee items tonen de lichtere muziekvormen (bhajans, devotional) en fusion projecten. Midnight Longing. Muziekvideo samenwerking met Filter Coffee (India) en Anuj Rastogi (Canada), gebaseerd op een klassieke Indiase compositie in Raga Bageshree. Geproduceerd door DesiYUP (2017). Krishna Bhajan Tere Naam. Devotioneel lied in het bhajan genre in samenwerking met Vasuda Sharma uit India. Geproduceerd door DesiYUP (2017). His music is rooted in the traditional Indian genres, but also touches contemporary styles. He moved from Suriname (South America) to Rotterdam when he was 11 years old. Here he got introduced to spiritual singing while visiting local Hindu temples. He learned Indian vocal music from the local music school SKVR and he completed his Master’s degree in Indian Classical Music from CODARTS University of Music in 2019. He has founded Rasique Music School in 2011 where he teaches Indian vocal music to children, beginners and semi-professionals. This showreel is an mix of the repertoire of Prewien and consists of small bits from his concert portfolio. The first item is a Yoga Nidra Sleep Meditation Concert, venue De Nieuwe Kerk, the Hague. The next bit is a Duet performance for Dutch VPRO Radio4 Vrije Geluiden. The duet or “Jugalbandi” in Raag Maru Bihag with Hamid Behzadian on slide guitar accompanied by Tarang Poddar on tabla (2021). Both are CODARTS graduates. The clip that follows shows Prewien as a composer and choir director. For the festival Sacred Songs, Kerstconcert (2017) a medieval mystical poem of Meera bai “Chala Vahi Des” was composed by Prewien in Raag Kaushik Dhwani and sung featuring the Rasique Choir. The last two bits are showing the lighter music forms (bhajans, devotional) and fusion projects. Midnight Longing.
