I recently installed Linux Mint Cinnamon on my (revived) MacBook Air from 2017 and found an issue with the Broadcom WiFi adapter when upgrading to kernel 7 of Linux Mint. The Broadcom drivers do not compile correctly on kernel 7 and cause a kernel panic when you boot :-(. Apparently you can replace the Broadcom WiFi card with an Intel one and then the drivers are supported on that. I purchased an Intel AX210 WiFi 6E card which uses an M.2 slot using a NGFF M2 2230 A/E key. Unfortunately I did not buy the correct adapter card to convert from the Apple connector to the M2. one and the 1st try failed! Hopefully in Part 2 things go better!
