I Walked Tolkien's Trail in Lancashire… Was It Worth It?
Join me as I explore the Tolkien Trail around Hurst Green in Lancashire's beautiful Ribble Valley.
This circular walk takes in woodland paths, riverside scenery, historic Stonyhurst College and landscapes associated with J.R.R. Tolkien's time in the area.
Along the way, there's a little Lord of the Rings humour, some unexpected rain, a squirrel encounter and a final hill that reminds me I still have some work to do on my fitness!
But is the Tolkien Trail actually worth walking?
In this video, I share my experience, the highlights of the route and what I thought of the walk overall.
About The Grounded Hiker
I'm exploring the UK's walking trails, countryside and outdoor challenges, sharing the experience as it happens — the good bits, the difficult bits and everything in between.
I'm also documenting my journey towards completing a Spartan Trifecta, proving that getting older doesn't mean giving up on adventure.
