L'angoisse

My short film’s title L’angoisse, means a form of invisible and unexplainable anxiety that exists without a clear cause. The story follows a seemingly ordinary female student who goes about her daily life attending classes, and moving through spaces yet she is constantly accompanied by an unspoken sense of unease. This anxiety is shown to gradually grow, even though she does seemingly nothing, it grows. Her parents scold her for always being too anxious and timid with no clear reasons. As the film progresses, the tension gradually intensifies, making the audience aware of this unseen presence. However, rather than attempting to escape or eliminate it, the protagonist reaches a turning point where she chooses to confront and accept the anxiety as a part of herself. In the final moments, nothing outwardly changes the anxiety remains but her relationship with it transforms. In the last scene, She hugs the anxiety grown too big as her shape. Showing what was once overwhelming becomes something familiar, almost quiet.
