He argued that the grouping’s strength should not remain limited to the economic size of its members, but should translate into greater trade, investment and joint financing. He also called for greater use of national currencies in trade between BRICS countries. Energy security, freedom of navigation, regional stability and the safety of sailors were among the issues discussed by the two leaders.
