Utsunomiya Light Rail 宇都宮ライトレール

Scenes from the new Utsunomiya Light Rail line in Utsunomiya, about 130 km's north of Tokyo in Tochigi Prefecture. This is first new tramway to be built in Japan in 75 years. The line runs from the east side of JR East's Utsunomiya station 14 kms east to the Haga Industrial area. The line is built to 1067 mm (3' 6") gauge and energised at 750v DC.
