In His lecture on Srimad Bhagavatam at ISKCON Delhi, HH Guru Prasad Swami Maharaj discusses the following:
1. Maharaj begins by speaking about the appearance day of Purushottam Das Thakur and narrates the pastimes of Raghunandan and Mukunda, highlighting pure devotion from an early age.
2. He then reads from the Srimad Bhagavatam and glorifies King Prithu Maharaj for his deep humility. He also connects this to modern psychology, explaining how a lack of self-realisation leads to depression and anxiety.
3. Through the pastime of Parikshit Maharaj, Maharaj explains that tolerance is a key quality of a devotee and emphasizes that leaders should be Krishna conscious.
4. He describes the mercy of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and explains how it can lead to the perfection of life, even granting darshan of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
5. Maharaj explains that Krishna can both reveal and conceal His identity from His devotees, and illustrates the depth of devotion through the example of Rantidev, who selflessly gave away everything despite fasting for 48 days.
6. He concludes by stating that a true devotee is eager to share Krishna consciousness with others and is an “ocean of mercy,” and that real faith means having firm conviction that by serving Krishna, everything will be taken care of.
