It features a turbocharged engine, advanced suspension systems, and a choice between 2-seat and 4-seat (MAX) configurations. The lineup includes specialized trims like the X rc, inspired by King of the Hammers victories for rock crawling, and the X rs with Smart-Shox technology for high-speed desert running. All Maverick R models are powered by the Rotax® 999T engine, a 999 cc turbocharged triple-cylinder engine producing 240 hp. It utilizes a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) with high and low (or extra low) ranges. The drivetrain features a lockable front differential with Can-Am's exclusive Smart-Lok system, offering True 2WD, 4WD with front diff lock, and various trail modes. The X rc package specifically includes launch control and a 4WD ROCK mode for extreme terrain. The Maverick R utilizes a high-strength dual-phase steel cage. Suspension travel varies by model, ranging from 24 to 26 inches. The 2026 Can-Am Defender MAX Limited HD11 is the premium, fully-enclosed utility side-by-side vehicle (UTV) in Can-Am’s redesigned HD11 lineup. It combines high-performance work capabilities with luxury comfort features, including a factory-installed climate control system and advanced digital displays. The vehicle is powered by an all-new Rotax® ACE 999cc inline-triple engine, delivering 95 horsepower and 70 lb-ft of torque. This powertrain is paired with a Quick Response System (QRS) CVT transmission and a pDrive primary clutch for smoother shifts and better acceleration under load. As the flagship model in the Maverick R lineup, it combines a turbocharged engine with advanced suspension technology to dominate desert runs and high-speed trails. At the heart of the Maverick R Max X RS is a 999cc Rotax 999T turbocharged triple-cylinder engine that produces 240 horsepower. This power is managed by a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) with high and extra-low ranges, providing seamless shifts in as little as 0.2 seconds without torque interruption. The drivetrain features a lockable front differential with the exclusive Smart-Lok system, allowing drivers to switch between True 2WD, 4WD with front diff lock, and specialized trail modes. The vehicle is built for speed, with tested top speeds approaching 96 mph. It offers three drive modes: Normal: Smooth, predictable throttle response; average fuel economy of 9–10 mpg. Sport: Sharper response for spirited driving. Sport+: Aggressive tuning with anti-lag features; fuel economy drops to 4–6 mpg under hard use.
