Here, English is more than a language: it is your passport to literature, culture, linguistics, and the wider world. Our faculty members are experienced, knowledgeable, skillful in teaching, and, most importantly, friendly. Don’t worry: they may know Shakespeare, literary theory, and linguistics inside out, but they rarely bite! Our curriculum takes you on an intellectual journey across centuries and disciplines. You may begin with literary classics such as Shakespeare, travel through literature, culture, linguistics, translation, English writing, and oral expression, and eventually meet one of the newest members of our academic world—AI. From classic texts to artificial intelligence, from words on the page to voices in the classroom, we aim to cultivate students who can do more than simply use English well: we want them to read critically, think independently, communicate confidently, create imaginatively, and engage with the world.
