#DarkHistory #Forensics #TrueCrimeDocumentary On August 4, 1892, in Fall River, Massachusetts, two people were murdered inside their own home at 92 Second Street. Andrew Jackson Borden, a 69‑year‑old businessman, and his wife Abby (64) were found brutally killed with a sharp‑edged weapon, believed to be an axe or hatchet. Andrew was struck at least 10 times as he slept on the sitting room sofa. Abby was attacked upstairs in the guest bedroom, receiving 18 or 19 blows to the back of the head. Here’s what made it unforgettable: almost everyone in the story claimed to hear nothing. The Bordens lived in a crowded neighborhood, with houses close together and thin walls inside their own home. Yet no neighbor reported hearing screams, no one heard a struggle, and the only sounds recalled were ordinary thumps and footsteps inside a busy Victorian house. The prime suspect, Andrew’s daughter Lizzie Borden, said she was in the house during both murders—but she heard and saw almost nothing. That contradiction has never been resolved. This documentary separates evidence from legend, court record from gossip, and asks the hard questions: Could Lizzie have killed both victims without being covered in blood? Why did investigators lose or ignore key pieces of physical evidence? How did a jury acquit her despite motive, opportunity, and a house full of unanswered questions? And why do we remember the nursery rhyme and the axe, but rarely talk about the real lives of Andrew and Abby Borden?
