Thrush | What to look for and what we use to treat it

Thrush is an anaerobic bacterial fungus that is found on the channels on either side of the frog and it occurs often in the central sulcus which is located in the center of the frog at the heel. We treat thrush with the highest quality Tea Tree Oil which is a multipurpose oil that is good for many things including burns, infection, cuts, and scrapes. - You can find the Tea Tree Oil that is used in this video at: cindycappel.mynsp.com - If you noticed the Pulling Back in the video, you noticed that we had one of many solutions for it. Disclaimer * This is a “sometimes” fix, not an every-time fix. When a pull-back happens like the one in this video, this fix will work this time This filly got tight on the lead rope and her first response to escape was to pull harder. While she was pulling harder I stayed in front of her and encouraged her to pull a littler harder. Then she made the decision to come forward and to put slack in the rope which gave her a reason to stand there on a loose rope which in turn caused her to have more respect for me and being tied up. - Note Worthy: I did NOT get behind this colt and driver her forward, in fact just the opposite. I stayed in front of her shoulder and increased the energy which actually caused her to pull harder, therefor her decision to go forward gave her instantaneous release from the halter.
