From US Army Base to Seoul's Central Park?

Yongsan Children's Garden is a large park located in a section of the former site of the US military's Yongsan Garrison. When it opened in 2023, access was heavily restricted and required advanced reservation, as the president at the time, President Yoon, had moved the presidential office there. When his successor, President Lee, stared his term, he ordered the presidential office be moved back to the Blue House. It was relocated in early 2026 and the park became freely accessible. In this video, I take you there to show you around, reminisce about my time working on the old garrison as a soldier and a government employee, and talk about the future plans for the entirety of the property: will it become Seoul's Central Park, or a housing development?
