Giant Jungle Lizards and Flood Waters | Gold Coast BL12

Somewhere between Sydney and Brisbane, giant lizards spawn! The locals seem to be unphased by these modern-day dinosaurs but I decided to keep my distance... Whilst we got some solid sunny days on this leg, we spent most of it in torrential rain. So much so that we had to seek shelter with Holly's aunt and uncle. Despite them living on top of a mountain we still were locked down by flash flooding in the area. However, our second natural disaster was not all bad. Lorene, Darryl, Eva, Eloise, and their two dogs Elliot and Bridget made us feel incredibly welcome. We had a big comfy bed, endless food and great company. So we stayed for two weeks! Sadly though, we had to eventually drag ourselves back onto the open road and into our tent. It was a sad goodbye but we have many more adventures to tackle before we get back home to Perth! We've got 6 months to see as much of the country as we can, from Perth to Cairns, we will try and see it all. This is by far the most adventurous thing we've ever done, so we thought we'd take our camera with us and try to capture all the thrills and spills.
