CHANGCHUN TO HARBIN BY TRAIN IN 1988

In 1988 train travel in China was far different than high-speed, air-conditioned trains. In summer it was open-window coaches and the sounds of steel wheels over jointed rails. There were considerable numbers of steam locomotives to be seen. Cars in this video are former South Manchuria Ry combined soft seat/hard seat coach and dining car.
