Traditional Iraqi groups were arriving with flags and swords, waving their banners and swinging their swords in the air in their distinctive style, accompanied by powerful drumbeats. The atmosphere was filled with energy, devotion, and the rich cultural traditions associated with the holy city of Najaf.
