A major controversy has erupted in Rajasthan over the purchase of 40 luxury villas and cottages involving an IAS-IPS couple. Senior IAS officer Shikhar Agrawal (1993 batch) and his wife, IPS officer Dr. Prashakha Mathur (1995 batch), have both been placed on Awaiting Posting Orders (APO). According to the allegations, the family purchased 40 villas and cottages from Goyal Fashions Pvt. Ltd. for approximately ₹6.16 crore and subsequently leased the same properties back to the company. The estimated annual rental income from these properties stands at around ₹1.80 crore. Rajasthan's Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is now investigating alleged misuse of official position, special concessions granted to the company, resort construction approvals and a special financial package.
