In this video I walk through the all-new BYD Sealion 08 — a 5.1-meter-plus electric SUV with up to 115kWh second-generation Blade Battery, around 800km combined range, lidar driver assistance, dual zero-gravity seats, 201L frunk, air suspension, rear-wheel steering and 0–100km/h in about 3.9 seconds. Shown car is the six-seat version; I also talk about why the five-seat may be the better buy, plus honest downsides. No test drive in this one — static walkthrough only.
Specs snapshot:
Body length: over 5.1m
Layout shown: 3-row, 6-seat (5-seat recommended by me)
Frunk: 201L, auto open/close
Boot: okay with 3rd row folded; limited with 3rd row up
Battery: 115kWh second-gen Blade (market/trim dependent)
Range: around 800km combined claimed/real-world estimate depending on conditions
Charging: flash-charge support, approx. 10 min low→full on compatible high-power BYD charger under ideal conditions
ADAS: lidar-based advanced driver assistance (not full self-driving)
Chassis: front double wishbone, rear 5-link, CDC, dual-chamber air suspension
Steering: rear-wheel steering, turning radius ~4.95m
Performance: 0–100km/h ≈ 3.9s (performance variant/conditions)
Comfort: front + 2nd-row zero-gravity seats, ventilated/heated/massage, fridge, front screen + rear roof screen, premium audio
Price discussed: approx. $34,000–$41,000 by market/trim (verify locally)
Honest cons I mention:
Rear side glass not acoustic double-laminated — cabin noise isolation could be better
Side styling/interior not super premium to my taste; five-seat may not get full leather
Pricing feels steep to some online, though value is high for the spec
